DETECT - Blue Hour

More than a decade into the project, Luke Standing has become a familiar name across electronic music without ever standing still for long. Producer, DJ and label head, his output has moved restlessly through the many corners of the dance floor, held together by an instinct for what works when put in front of one.

That same instinct extends well beyond the booth. As founder of Blue Hour Music and its family of sub-labels, as well as co-founder of positivesource, Standing has spent years creating homes for music outside of his own. In 2024, Blue Hour Music celebrated a decade of releases with the Omni compilations, looking back only briefly before turning its attention firmly towards what comes next.

Earlier this year, that next chapter arrived in the form of Selva, Blue Hour’s debut LP. Eight tracks distilled from more than a decade of influences, the record moves between the foundations of his early UK dance music experience, techno and more expansive, atmospheric territory, weaving them into something distinctly his own.

Now, Blue Hour turns his attention to DETECT.

An hour in the hands of an artist who has spent years navigating dance music’s foundations without allowing himself to become fixed by them.
