DETECT - ValaV

This month’s DETECT we welcome the ‘psygroove’ specialist ValaV.

First emerging onto our radar several years ago through their earlier productions, ValaV takes an almost ghostly approach to techno, immersing the listener in a flurry of pads and kicks that pitter-patter along at break-neck pace, yet somehow never feels out of control. Such is the richness of their layered sound design, rather than being engulfed by the pace, we are scooped up, and left to float above the Venezuelan artist’s entirely unique fusion of emotive psy and percussive grooves.

2025 has seen the Yo-Yo co-founder catch the attention of Anetha’s ‘Mama Told Ya’ label, with a subsequent release on their latest VA this Summer, as well several link ups with the event series, 'Pornceptual' amongst others.

Now it’s time to welcome them into our mix series, DETECT.
